Mission statement
The StoryWork Collective exists to create brave, attentive spaces where people can explore their stories with curiosity, integrity, and care — trusting that through faith, hope, and love, stories marked by loss can move toward redemption, resurrection, and deeper connection with God, self, and others.
Our core values
1. Presence Over Performance
We show up attentive, grounded, and human — believing that transformation begins not with striving, but with being fully present to God, ourselves, and one another.
2. Curiosity Before Interpretation
We choose curiosity over certainty, honoring that meaning unfolds over time and that faithful listening often precedes understanding.
3. Brave & Boundaried Vulnerability
We invite honest engagement with our stories while honoring consent, personal limits, and emotional safety — reflecting love that does not coerce or rush.
4. Death, Resurrection, and Redemption
We believe that stories often pass through loss, grief, and unknowing before new life emerges. We trust that God meets us in these places, bringing redemption where things once felt beyond repair.
5. Personal Responsibility for One’s Own Work
We commit to doing our own story work — tending to our formation, healing, and blind spots — so that we do not ask others to carry what is ours to hold.
6. Welcoming the Complexity of Faith
We honor faith as lived, questioned, practiced, and sometimes wrestled with. We welcome doubt, ambiguity, and diverse expressions of belief, trusting that God is present even when clarity is not.
